FrontiersAfar (FAR) provides deep intercultural learning experiences in the remote Himalayan region of Ladakh, India for adventurous, motivated students eager to know more about the people and places of the world we live in. FAR offers three month-long “gap” programs during the fall and the spring for students taking time off before or during college, and a semester-long high school academic program for juniors and seniors in the spring (resuming in 2014). Formerly known as VIS (Vermont Intercultural Semesters), FAR has been providing transformative international learning experiences for high school and college-aged students since 2004.
